He is survived by: his sons, James F. Higgins Jr. (Jeanie) of Hazlet and Frank M. Higgins (Michele) of Middletown; and his grandchildren, Katie Higgins, Samantha Higgins, James Higgins, Jason Higgins and Matthew Higgins.

In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of James to St Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
