He was predeceased by: his daughter Ella; his mother Ernestine Atkinson; his sister Ella Mattison; his uncle Carl May; his former wife Cynthia Jefferson-Atkinson; and his siblings-in-law, David, Brent, Butch Jefferson and Belinda Jefferson.

He is survived by: his children, Charris Jamillah and Collin George; his father George; his aunts, Leola Schultz of Philadelphia, PA, Annie Atkinson of Irvington, NJ and Thomasena May of Charlotte, NC; his siblings-in-law, Diane and Jesse; his nieces, Monique Nicole (Jamon) and Erica (Glenn); his nephew Jarell; and his close friends, Kelly Paterson, Fatima Holder and Diane Johnson. He is also survived by grand, nephews and grand nieces, cousins.
