In loving memory of Walter J. Schruntek Jr. of Jackson, New Jersey, who departed this world on March 22, 2025 at the age of 90. Walter leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schruntek and Martha Schruntek; and his sister Doris Albers. He is survived by: his wife Christine; his family, Kathleen, Carolyn (Jason) and Wawa; his children, Odin, Astrid, Lydia (Scott), Lisa (Marios), Laura (Wesley) and Mark (Corey); his grandchildren, Jessica, Joseph, Michael, Jacqueline, Samantha, Alexandra and Juliette; and also Sophia.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George's. Hassler Funeral Home (980 Bennetts Mills Rd, Jackson Township, NJ 08527). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 10:15 AM and at 10:30 AM at the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church (61 Georgia Rd, Freehold Township, NJ 07728).
In lieu of flowers, we'd ask that you donate to the American Cancer Society or one of the many military charities he supported including USO, Wounded Warriors, American Legion or Disabled Veterans.
