He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Gibbs and Alice Gibbs; his significant other Loretta; his children, Jennie (Hansy), James J. Gibbs III, Kate (Steve), Teddy (Stephanie) and Brian (Juliana); his grandchildren, Damian, Erin, Shane, Matthias, Bridget, Felice, Nate, Zoey, Evelyn and Alice; and his siblings, Jane Byrne and Kevin Gibbs.

“Jim was a great guy, a family man and a hard worker throughout his life. I first met Jim in 1974, he was a deputy tax assessor in East Orange. Jim later moved on to take on the chief tax assessor position in Irvington and was assisted by his wife Loretta. He later moved on to PSEG and was in charge of their entire portfolio of properties overseeing assessed valuations and tax appeals. He will be missed by all. Jeff Hendricks”
