He was predeceased by: his mother Rosa Lee Smith; his wife Rebecca Johnson; his daughter Teresa McCullough; and his siblings, Purman Smith, Alfonso McCullough and Daisy Smith.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra Johnson, Gloria McCullough and Margo McCullough; and his neice Barbara Kates. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
