He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Hoops and Edith E. Hoops (Sumner); his brothers, William Carl Hoops and George William Hoops; and his brother-in-law Robert Lowthert, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Marian Hoops (Hinkel); his daughter Cherie Steinberg (Dan); his grandson Tyler Larsen; and his sister Judith May Lowthert.
