He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Thomas Meehan and Margaret Meehan (Alice); his brother Joseph Meehan; and his former wife Elizabeth Gorczyca Meehan. He is survived by: his children, Marya Meehan of Hopatcong, Kathleen Meehan-Kiermeier of Deptford, NJ, Kevin Meehan of Wharton, NJ and Erin Meehan of Sussex, NJ.; his grandchildren, Brenna Meehan, Devin Meehan, Kelsie Lynn Kiermeier and Aidan Kiermeier; his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Mason Meehan; and his daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Seal-Meehan and Meghan Van Vilet (Benjamin Van Vilet).
