He was predeceased by: his brothers, Richard and Robert Campis. He is survived by: his wife Francine Campis of Holmdel; his children, Daniel Campis of Syracuse, Christopher Campis (Abby) of Hellertown, PA and Jaclyn Campis of Holmdel; and his brothers, Edward Campis and Joseph Campis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rene's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
