He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabella Mazzeo Crupi and Dominick A. Crupi; and his brother Msgr. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his daughters, Lisa DeSantis (David) of Fair Haven and Jennifer Crupi (Luis) of Oceanport; his sister Rosemarie Accardi (Joseph) of Little Silver; his granddaughters, Emma and Bella; and his daughter Jodi Crupi. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Mario received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Seton Hall University, and a teaching Fellowship from the National Science Foundation.
