He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Carney and Victor Carney; his sister Jeanne McNierney; his son-in-law Francis X. Journick, Jr.; and his friend Bob Scarrone.
He is survived by: his significant other Rita Moran; his children, Gerard Jr., Timothy, Patrice Journick, Kathy (Mike Matuszewski), Nancy (Jay Cody) and Tara (CJ Brown); his brother-in-law John Moran; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Francis, Jennifer, Matthew, Patrice, Taylor, Brian, Sarah, Maggie, Lauren, Julia, Shea, Anya, Aisling, Grace, Timothy, Patrick, Christopher, Julianna and Olivia; and his great grandchild Connor.
In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Gerard to the St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Benedict Church would be greatly appreciated.
