He is survived by: his spouse Aisha-Dian McLaren; his children, Candice Carlisle and Sana Smith; his parent Mattie P. Carlisle; his sibling Edward Whaley (Bessie); his grandchildren, Haleem Carlisle-Robinson, Tamir Carlisle-Robinson, Nazir W. Swan and Kayir J. McBride; and his nephew Eric Whaley.
