He was predeceased by: his wife Marian Housten; and his parents, David F. Housten, Sr. and Phyllis Housten. He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Housten of Hillsborough and Karen Waters of Piscataway; his son-in-law Tommy Waters of Piscataway; his granddaughter Anna Faith Waters of Piscataway; and his siblings, Richard Housten and Nancy Kozyra. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“David and I were good friends in Martinsville.. Graduated from BBHS together.. We were with a very small group of kids that were the first members of the Martinsville Junior Fire Department... Still have a pin they gave us.. His Dad & brother Jimmy were very active members.. I used to go down to his house a lot, still remember his HO train that was in the basement.. Tried to contact him several times but never got thru.. I am so sorry for your loss.. We will see him again in Heaven..”
