He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Sawyer and Catherine Sawyer; his brothers, Michael, David and Timothy; and his son Matthew Sawyer.
He is survived by: his daughter Nicole Sawyer; his sisters, Nancy Sawyer Lynch (Robert) of Tinton Falls and Mary Catherine Moore (Colin) of Highlands; and his nieces and nephews, Robert Lynch, Katie Lynch, Christopher Sawyer, Alexandra Mitchell and Sabrina Moore.
