He was predeceased by: his father James J. Farrell Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Marie Farrell O'Neil of Brielle, NJ; his siblings, Patrice Marie Farrell, Maureen O'Neil and John O'Neil of Brielle, NJ; his niece Elizabeth Jane Farrell (Justin Scace); and his great-nieces, Eloise Farrell Scace of Waltham, MA. and Tessa Farrell Scace of Waltham, MA..

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Benedict's Prep, Newark NJ, or the Highland Park Public Library, Highland Park, NJ.
