He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Welsh and Jessie Welsh (Moffat); his wife Mary C. Welsh (Ryan); his son William Welsh; and his brother Joseph Welsh.
He is survived by: his children, Melanie Valerio and Joseph Welsh of Brooklyn; his daughter-in-law Ellen Devlin; his siblings, James J. Welsh (Carol, Jeanne Krygier) and Virginia Woods (William); his grandchildren, Emma Devlin, Ryan Devlin, Joseph Valerio and Theresa Valerio; and his nephew James Welsh. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
