It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Helen Schenk of Hazlet, New Jersey, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on January 1, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Hilgendorf and Olive Hilgendorf (Brittan); her sister Ruth Doyle; her sister-in-law Betty Ann Bellotti (Sal); and her son-in-law Edmunds Tobiens.

She is survived by: her husband Robert (Detroit); her children, Robert Schenk Jr. (Jayne), Steven Schenk (Connie Demko), Susan Tobiens and Carol Heller (Chris); her grandchildren, Jessica Eastman (Joseph), Jenna Schenk, Jacqueline Raab (Carsten), Jonathan Schenk (Joy), Christopher, Eddie Tobiens, Danielle, Steven, Alyson, Patrick Schenk, Katie, Grace and Abigail Heller; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Julian, Dante and Julianna; her sister-in-law Margaret Sjosward (Robert); and her friends, Janet and Pat.

All services are private due to COVID with a memorial planned for a later date.
