He was predeceased by: his parents, Daisy Hartswell, and Wesley F. Hartswell, Sr.; and his siblings, Graciela Hartswell and Ricardo Hartswell. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann; his son Joseph; his daughter-in-law Rebecca; his grandson Tyler; his brother Wesley Hartswell (Anna) of Long Island, NY; and also Jo Ann Hartswell of Hazlet, NJ. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Episcopal Church in Middletown, NJ and All Saints' Memorial Church in Navesink, NJ.
