He was predeceased by: his siblings, Steve, John Mattina and Paulina Bonfiglio; and his parents, Giuseppe Mattina and Maria Mattina.

He is survived by: his wife Maria Mattina of Hawthorne; his children, John Mattina (Mariana Acri) of Hawthorne, Salvatore Mattina, Jr. (Jennifer) of Oakland and Angela Mattina of Hawthorne; his grandchildren, Gabriella, Matthew, Kailey, Chelsea and Giovanni; and his siblings, Antonio Mattina of Hawthorne and Santa Lemme of North Haledon.
