It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Phyllis Shamas of Hawthorne, New Jersey, born in Paterson, New Jersey, who passed away on December 19, 2022, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Joseph Shamas of Hawthorne; her daughter Gina Caruso (Franco) of Hawthorne; and her grandchildren, Stefano, Jessica and Anthony Caruso.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the ASPCA.
