It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josef Kern of Hawthorne, New Jersey, who passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his sisters, Lydia Huber (Zeno), Josephine Mahoney (Jerome) and Inge Parastschenko. He is survived by: his wife Erika Kern (Patega); his daughters, Linda Fau (James) of Highland Lakes and Susan Kern of Hawthorne; his grandchildren, Timothy Fau (Aislin Bender), Jesse Fau and Dylan Fau (Lia); his sister Therese Manley (Ira); and his brother-in-law Victor (Inge).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway # 1509, New York NY 10018 in Josef's honor.
