It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Balko of Hawthorne, New Jersey, who passed away on July 6, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her siblings, Hildegard Ryll and George Ryll. She is survived by: her spouse Ditmar Balko; her children, Ditmar Robert Balko, Jr. (Frances) of Spring Valley, CA, Angelica Parish (Walter) of Sebastian, FL, David Balko of Manahawkin, Sandra Evans (Charles) of West Creek and Lisa E. Danyus (Jeffrey) of Oak Ridge; her grandchildren, Christopher, Shannan, Michael, Katie, Nicole, Rachel, Madelyn, Jessica, Carlie, Jeffrey, Jr., Alexis and Joshua; her great grandchildren, Logan, Bodie, McKenzie, Colton, Dillon, Kynslee, Aaron and Rylee; and her sibling Annedore Parastschenko (late Nicholas). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of the Incarnation.

“What a grand lady and a beautiful one. I knew her since I went to high school. She was a hard worker and a loving mother and wife. But if one of the kids did something wrong, you got “the eye”.
