He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Benjamin and Elizabeth Benjamin (Vermeulen); his siblings-in-law, William and Nellie Graafsma (Pikaard); his uncle Leonard (Marjorie Pikaard); and his aunt Lee Lawerence.

He is survived by: his spouse Marion Benjamin (Graafsma); his daughters, Melissa Peters (Benjamin) and Susan Benjamin; his son-in-law Ben Brower; his grandchildren, JC Nasuti, Taylor and Derick Peters; his siblings-in-law, Neal, Janet Graafsma, Paul, PJ Graafsma (Pamela Jean), Frank, Susan Graafsma and Debbye Graafsma; his aunt Marion DeMeester (Pikaard); and his cousin Robert Vermeulen. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
