He was predeceased by: his wife Marie "Scotty" Egan Ruvoldt; his sister Arlene Chiapetta; and his nephew Marc Chiapetta. He is survived by: his daughters, Maria Ruvoldt and Margaret Ruvoldt; his grandchildren, Jack Malamud, Alec Hoffman, Zhana Hoffman and Hilary Malamud; his sons-in-law, Jason Malamud and Darren List; his niece Alison; his nephew Jim Campoli; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Patrick Casteneda and Carly Campoli; his significant other Cathy Fleming; and also Harold.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold's name may be made to the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, an organization that had an important impact on Harold's life and all those who loved him. (https://www.hazeldenbettyford.org).
