He is survived by: his father Ivan Varela Sr.; his children, Victor Varela Jr. and Naomi Varela; his siblings, Ivan Varela Jr., Sonia Varela Montano and Norma Varela; his granddaughter Alayah Varela Nelson; and his wife Molly Pagan.
