He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Wilma Swofford; his brother James Swofford; his wife Christine Swofford; his children, Brian Swofford and Laura Swofford; his father Clyde Swofford; his granddaughter Skylar Swofford; his stepgranddaughter Simone O'Drain; his sisters, Katie Carroll and Marilyn Swofford; and his half-sister Edel Müller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Philip's memory may be made to Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad (BARKS).
