With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas R. Cessato Sr. of Hammonton, New Jersey, born in Pleasantville, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 31, 2025 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cessato and Jennie Cessato (Callacco); his wife Frances Cessato (Lisa); his mother-in-law Eleanor Lisa-Cessato (DiLullo); his brother William Cessato (Bill); and his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Cessato (DeMarco), Carmen Lisa, Hans Lang and Philip DeMarco.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Chatten (Edward "Joe" Chatten) of Galloway, NJ and Thomas R. Cessato, Jr. of Galloway, NJ; his grandson Kyle Chatten (Jessica); his great grandchild Madelyn Chatten of Port Republic, NJ; his granddaughter Kelsey Chatten (Craig Orenchuk) of Old Bridge, NJ; his brother John Cessato (Maryann); and his sisters-in-law, Sandy Lisa of Waterford, NJ, Santina Lang of Berlin, NJ and Josephine DeMarco of Hammonton, NJ. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Viewing was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish - St. Anthony of Padua (285 US-206, Hammonton, NJ 08037). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery (248 S 1st Rd, Hammonton, NJ 08037).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
