“I had the good fortune of meeting George back in 1975 - I hadn't seen him since the 80's until 2 summers ago. We caught up, just like we didn't skip a beat. I finally got to see his band play at the Trocadero in March of 2018. I am beyond sad to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to his wife and extended family - may god be with you all at this very difficult time. I pray George rests in peace now. Sharon Giovacchini”

“I'm so sad that my friend of over 30 years & someone I looked up to as a Big Brother figure has been taken away. After all the other health challenges he hurdled over the 30 years I've known GG I really didn't think he wouldn't survive this 1. I consider GG "family". As the saying goes you can't choose the family you're born into but you can choose the "family" you want to have. GG was just that, "family". I will keep his bride & son in my thoughts & prayers. #CancerSucks”
