John V Pospiel Obituary
Pospiel, John V. age 86 of Woodland Park, NJ who passed away on September 16, 2015 at St Joseph's Hospital in Paterson. John was born on August 21, 1929 in Sterling NJ, lived in Haledon and Paterson and resided in Woodland Park for the past 50 years. John served in the US Navy from 1946-1950 and was Quartermaster aboard the USS Rochester CA-124.
He later worked as a Senior Draftsman for Singer Kearfott designing aeronautical navigation systems for many military aircraft and spacecraft including the F-15, F-16 fighter jets and the Space Shuttle until his retirement in 1992. John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Jennie (Baggetta) Pospiel, son Ronald Pospiel of Woodland Park; son Gregg and his wife Debbie (Doumar) Pospiel of Rutland, MA; daughter Linda and her husband Ernest Mac Neill of Towaco; and daughter Karen and her husband Jim Pepe of Parsippany and a brother Robert and his wife Marge Pospiel of North Haledon and the late Helen Giordano.
He also leaves behind 5 loving granchildren; Kellyann and Matthew Pepe, and Jenna and Jullianne Mac Neill . Visiting hours are 7-9 PM Friday at Festa Memorial Funeral Home in Totowa. Funeral services will be Saturday at 8:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at St James Church in Totowa at 9:30 AM and entombment at Laurel Grove Cemetery also in Totowa.
