She was predeceased by: her parents, Neil Harkins and Rita Harkins of Ocean City; and her sister Rita "Sis" Glancey of Boise, Idaho.. She is survived by: her husband Thomas Scanlon; her daughters, Suzanne Dougherty (Ben), Maura van (Henk) of Meent and Beth Hoffman; her siblings, Ave Glancey of Ocean City and Neil Harkins of California; her grandchildren, Ryan Twist, Brett Hoffman, Kyle Hoffman, Helen "Julia" van of Meent and Erik van of Meent; and her great grandchild Brooks Hoffman. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Helen's name to Samaritan Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
