He was predeceased by: his son Anthony Tarantini; his parents, Leopoldo Tarantini and Pauline Tarantini; and his siblings, Elizabetta Massaro, Giulia Maria Greco, Lidia McLaughlin, Vincenzo Tarantini and Mauro Sergio Tarantini.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen; his children, Lorraine Krul (John), Leopoldo Tarantini (Susan), Julia Tarantini and Michael Cimino; his grandchildren, Richard Luessen (Sheena), Dustin Tarantini, Kevin Tarantini (Chelsey), Karina Krul and Gabriel Tarantini; his great grandchildren, Hannah Luessen, Addison Luessen, Mia Tarantini, Ava Tarantini, Logan Tarantini, Nolan Tarantini and Cecelia Tarantini; his siblings, Anna Harring, Yolanda Fil (Leon), Liliana Pacifico and Mario Tarantini (George); and his friend Mary Jo Cimino. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
