He is survived by: his fiancée Ellen Poli; his daughters, Maria Rickert, Laura Haugland and Juliann Zimmerman; his sons-in-law, Kevin Haugland and Nate Zimmerman; his grandsons, Liam Rickert, Jack Rickert and Oliver Haugland; his sister Susan Swift; and his former wife Karen Swift.
