He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Fischer Jr. and Dorothy Gottschalk Atkinson; and his sister Claudia Bullard. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Rowan Blevins of Woodland Park, NJ; his children, Richard F. Blevins (Amanda Myers) of Minneapolis, MN and Lynnette Hettrick (Douglas) of Durham, CT; his sister Leslie Henschel (Melford) of Apple Valley, MN; his nieces and nephews, Tamara Henschel, Amy Presler, Michael Bullard and Daniel Bullard; his grandchildren, Amelia Hettrick and Davin Hettrick; and also, Bob Rowan (Cyndee) of Montclair, NJ and Tom Rowan (Mary) of Tampa, FL.
He completed his lifetime goal of traveling to all 50 states in the U.S. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belford Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 .
