She was predeceased by: her parents, John Cashel and Lottie Cashel; her husband Roy E. Holmstrup; her children, Erika Steinbauer and Robert Holmstrup; and her nephew Paul Holmstrup.
She is survived by: her child Jan; her grandchildren, Dr. Michael Holmstrup (Ria Noel-Cui), John Steinbauer (Laura Snider), Erik Steinbauer and Lindsay Steinbauer; her great grandchildren, Christian, Mia, Jackson, Taylor, Justin Holmstrup, Charlie and Georgia Steinbauer; her daughter-in-law Karen Ketty Holmstrup; her niece Beth Holmstrup Kelly; and her nephew Mark Holmstrup.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joy may be made to the Building Bridges Program at New Bridge Center in honor of her daughter Erika Steinbauer (checks may be made payable to the River Edge Board of Education), 410 Bogert Road, River Edge, NJ 07661.
