He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Yates and Jane Yates; and his brother Christopher J. Yates. He is survived by: his wife Christine M. Yates; his children, Erik M. Yates (Kristin S. Yates) and Alison Yates Harris (John Maynard Harris); and his granddaughters, Piper Yates, Riley Yates and Nina Harris. He is also survived by his five siblings.
