With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bennie Franklin Lewis (Glassboro, New Jersey), who passed away on May 23, 2020 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Hogges-Lewis and Lucy Hogges-Lewis; his siblings, Arelene Morrison, Fanny Thomas, Annie Bell Fowler, Audrey Graves-Rawls and John "Ellis"; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce of Washington and Walter "Sonny" Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Thornton; his children, Beverly, Jonathan, Wanda Smith (Dwaine) and Benjamin "Frank"; his grandchildren, Leon, Kamesha, Jaleesa and Elijah; his godsons, Eric and Todd Dow; and his brother Prince "Eddie" (Miriam). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.
