He was predeceased by: his spouse Elizabeth "Betty" Hamilton; and his sister Bessie Gallagher. He is survived by: his children, James Hamilton, Jr., Charles Hamilton (Linda), Patricia Yip (Mike) and Liz Hamilton; and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Dolce, William Gardopee and John Smagalla. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
