He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen and Edward, Sr.. He is survived by: his uncles, John Opalka (Regina) and Frank Opalka. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Garfield Volunteer Fire Department Company 3, 159 Gaston Avenue, Garfield, NJ 07026.
