She was predeceased by: her parents, Jan Frik and Aaltje Smit. She is survived by: her nieces, Aleida Stijnman-Frik and Dieneke Frik-Westerhof; and her cousin John Van Dyke.
In the early 70's she was appointed Director of the American Lung Association and travelled widely in the US to lecture on the dangers of smoking and the cause of lung cancer.
