He was predeceased by: his parents, Sebastian Rizzo and Catherine Rizzo; and his son-in-law Frank Portelle. He is survived by: his wife Angela Rizzo of Freehold; his daughters, Jeanine Portelle of Nanuet and Claudine Freda (Robert) of Manalapan; and his grandchildren, Thomas John, Valerie, Nicole and Robert.

Our mutual love for music in the doo wop rock era saw us co found our vocal group The Statens, go on to record SUMMERTIME IS THE TIME FOR LOVE on Mark X Records with Frank Toscano and Steve Impellizieri. But as brothers we shared so much more including being in each others wedding parties. I will miss you forever until we meet again. Joe”
