He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Sweet and Anna Sweet; and his sisters, Marylou Narciso and Sally Crochet. He is survived by: his wife Mary Surgent; his children, Michael Sweet (Charlene), Mary Gold (Wesley) and Melanie Parks (Stephen); his brother Reverend Stephen Sweet (Nancy); and his grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Brittany, Emily, Stephen, Isabella, Robert, Charles, William, Johnathan and Jacquelann.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in his memory to V.F.W / Riders, 50 Waterworks Road, Freehold NJ.
