He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Riddell and Isabella Riddell; his wife Christina; and his sisters, Freda, Ruby and Dolly.

He is survived by: his daughter Christine; his son-in-law Brian Macfarlane; his children, Sandra Guadagno, Susan Perry and Robert; and his daughter-in-law Kerry Riddell. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
