He is survived by: his children, James Tunis, Jr. (Sharon) of Randolph and Gloria Varela (Peter) of Freehold; his grandsons, Peter and Michael Varela; and his brother Charles Tunis (Carmela) of Belleville.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home (100 Elton-Adelphia Rd, Freehold Township, NJ 07728). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (16 Mc Lean St, Freehold, NJ 07728). A burial was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031).
