She was predeceased by: her parents, John Atkins and Carrie Corprew Atkins; her husband Ernest Caracter; and her brothers, Daniel and John Atkins Jr..

She is survived by: her siblings, Margaret Ellis, Russell Kelly, Pat Bethea, Joann Bethea, Linda Ruffin (IV), Kenny Bethea, Kevin Thomas, Stephanie Ashley (James) and Mark Kennedy; her children, Arlene Archer, Sharon Kimbrough and Henry Bush Jr.; and her grandchildren, Lakisa, Craig, Tiffany, Briana, Ashley, Nyisha, Tyler and Dillon.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens (771 Somerset St, Somerset, NJ 08873). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 1:30 PM.
