He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel and Dorothy; and his brother Thomas (Iris). He is survived by: his wife Charlene (Hintzen); his children, Michael Messina and Jennifer Grandioso (Lorenzo); his grandchildren, Katelynn Anne Messina, Gino Grandioso and Michael Messina Jr. Dear; and his siblings, Linda Holly (David), Lori Tullgren (Scott) and Michael Messina (Rosemarie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
