He was predeceased by: his siblings, Frank, Ann Marie and Patrick Gianotto. He is survived by: his wife Gale Gianotto (Falgiano); his stepson Mark Mazzone; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Gianotto. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

He was also an Executive Director and Charter Member of the Marconi Foundation.
