He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis S. Chew Jr. and Audrey Lykens Chew; his son Joseph S. Chew; and the parents of child, Louis S. and Audrey Chew Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Denise Chew; his sister Debora Eckert (Harry); and his children, Dana Chew, Cliff Higbee (Hillary), Michelle Sheppard, TJ Sheppard and Gabrielle Horseman. He is also survived by five grandsons; one granddaughter; one niece; and one nephew.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Doug's memory to Project K-9 Hero, 309 Bear Pen Rd., Whitwell, TN 37397.
