He is survived by: his children, Joseph V., Jr. (Kathy Xibos) and Kathleen Maiale (Jim); his grandchildren, Kelly Rosado, Kirsten Edling, Lauren Nunez, Michael De Fulgentis, Alyssa Maiale and Kristen Maiale; his great grandchild Chase Rosado; his sibling John; and his friend Veronica McCourt Hosak.
