She was predeceased by: her father Joseph Damiano; and her sister Grace Nicosia. She is survived by: her daughter Jessica Carroll (Joseph); her grandchildren, Hudson and Rhys Carroll; her mother Theresa Hvasta; her siblings, Anthony Damiano and Tommasina Damiano; and her uncle Armando Damiano. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joanne's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Association.
