She was predeceased by: her husband Samuel E. McWhirt Jr.; and her daughter Debbie L. Swanson. She is survived by: her children, David McWhirt, Judith L. (William Causey), Samuel E. III (Andrea McWhirt), Robert L. (Elizabeth McWhirt) and Paul A. (Trish McWhirt).

Dorothy was a longtime Burlington County resident who spent many years volunteering and fund raising for the Deborah Hospital Foundation.
