He was predeceased by: his parents, Fiorentino Checchio and Elizabeth Checchio (Colapietro); his siblings-in-law, Carol Caruso, Pat Caruso, Richard Kielbasa, Albert Rose and Andy Farina; his nephew Christopher Rose; his pet Cooper; and his wife Patricia Checchio (Caruso).

He is survived by: his close friends, Fred Steirmann, Matt Costello and John Checchio; his children, Thomas Checchio (Jessica) and Christina Minikus (Christopher); his granddaughter Nina Minikus; his siblings, Diana Rose, Joanna Kielbasa and Gary Checchio (Diane Checchio); his nephews, John Kielbasa (Patricia), Richard Kielbasa (Eleanor), Leonard Kielbasa (Jennifer) and Kevin Kielbasa (Ondra); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Anthony Kielbasa, Samantha Rose, Lex Aspinall, Kailyn Kielbasa, Hayley Kielbasa, Ryder Kielbasa, Gregory Brengel, Paige Brengel, Alasondra Brengel, Adam Rose, Sylvio Rose, Rylee Checchio, Brentley Checchio, Clara Wasserman and Zoe Wasserman; and also, Nicole Rose, Jonathon Rose (Cristin), Laura Brengel (Gregory), Bryan Rose (Kerri), Carolynn Rose, Allison Wasserman (Jared) and Jeffrey Checchio (Adrienne). He is also survived by family and friends.
